Set on the pristine white sands of Natai Beach in southern Thailand, Esenzi is a globally- influenced seafood restaurant that aims to bring every element of the ocean right to the diners’ table, through a superior and interactive atmosphere. Renowned Chef Tim Butler and director Christian Marot have collaborated to create the world’s first augmented reality tasting menu. Launched on the 18th of December 2018, this innovative concept offers diners the visual journey of each of the 14 dishes on the tasting menu at Esenzi.
Upon seating, diners are handed a mysterious box containing 14 specially created cards, each one featuring an image of the main ingredient of one of the dishes, in its raw form. The cards are brought to life by pointing a mobile device loaded with an app called Artivive, which recognises the image and delivers a short and engaging video of the creation of the dish - from preparation all the way to plating.
